Donovan McNabb is the Solution to the Chicago Bears' Problems

Lee Andrew Henderson
The Chicago Bears have suffered through some pretty horrible quarterbacks. As bad as Rex Grossman was last year it was actually an improvement over the few years before that.

Rex Grossman's numbers last year for the Chicago Bears were better than Kyle Orton in 2005, Chad Hutchinson, Craig Krenzel and Jonathan Quinn in 2004, Chris Chandler and Kordell Stewart the year before that. There were many other projects for the Chicago Bears like Shane Matthews, Cade McNown, and others.

Rex Grossman had some rough games with the Chicago Bears last season but the last quarterback to throw for more yards and touchdowns than Rex Grossman was Erik Kramer back in 1995.

The past two years Chicago Bears fans figured with their defense and special teams their only missing piece was a good quarterback. Unfortunately that piece isn't so easy to fill when it comes to the Chicago Bears.

Meanwhile there is a star quarterback that is wearing out his welcome in Philadelphia.

I mentioned in another article that even though Donovan McNabb has been one of the top three quarterbacks in the NFL for about ten years now it's easy to understand why the Philadelphia Eagles fans are starting to get on their star quarterback. If you're the starting quarterback in one place for ten years it doesn't matter how good you are, your team is expecting a championship by then.

It's time for the Chicago Bears to find a star quarterback and it's time for the Philadelphia Eagles to part with their star quarterback so naturally Donovan McNabb should be the next quarterback of the Chicago Bears.

I don't believe for a second that Donovan McNabb is done being a great quarterback if he's healthy (which some will say is a big if.) Donovan McNabb would be able to handle the Chicago Bears fans. Donovan McNabb has dealt with Philadelphia so Chicago will be no problem. Since the Chicago Bears need a quarterback and Donovan McNabb would be the best they had in ages, the Chicago Bears fans would give Donovan McNabb a grace period for a couple of years anyway.

I don't think Donovan McNabb would have a problem with playing for the Chicago Bears either. The way he's been talking lately I wouldn't be surprised if Donovan McNabb wanted out of Philadelphia as soon as possible and what better place to go then back to his home town of Chicago?

As for the Philadelphia Eagles, they might be the last place team in the NFC East this year and they are going to have to rebuild. There is no sense in building around Donovan McNabb again when he could be 35 or 36 years old by the time the Philadelphia Eagles are back.

Hey lee i've been meaning to read some of your articles. u r right the bears only lack a consistant QB, mcnabb would be a good fit.

McNabb would probably get way too nervous playing in front of the hometown folks.

McNabb on the Bears is a scary thought for the rest of the NFL.
