My dad is preparing to go home to his father in heaven. The doctors are still confused about how fast his cancer took over his body. The doctors told him it was rare that this happened. He told his family, that if it was a rare thing that happened, then he feels that's his answer from God. He knows he must prepare to go home.
My father is showing his family how to prepare for this type of journey. My sister told me that we were actually given a great gift. If my father would have died of a heart attack, nobody would have the gift of sharing our love with him a few more times.
The father in heaven may want him to stay until Easter. He may take him tonight in his sleep. I can honestly say now, that I would thank the Lord for ending his suffering. I love my dad too much to want him to suffer a minute longer than he has to suffer. Our father in heaven knows what is best. It will not be easy, but our family will know he's in heaven, and his suffering has ended forever.
Many people argue with their parents. They think their parents, husbands, wives, friends, etc, are just being difficult. People, who take the time to ask you to listen to them, and then ask you to trust them completely, are doing the same as our father in heaven is doing to all of his people on earth. Trust is all about believing in someone, without any doubt.
There was a story my mother read with me when I was little from,'The Little Visits with God,' children's book. The story from this book is about a little girl who was scared to jump to her mother off of a table. Her mother explained to her about the word trust, and asks her to jump if she trusted her. She jump, and learned a great lesson that day about the word trust. True love will always be spelled T-R-U-S-T.
I don't remember the name of this story, but the meaning of it has always stayed closed to my heart. I thought this example was perfect for the topic of discussion.
Remember your father in heaven does know best, now, and always
