Would it be proper to laugh when my soul is full of pain?

The festering wound you left has turned into cold ice,

But still, these eyes won't stop, much as I want to feign.

Don't ask why I stay secluded in the corner of my room,

Would it be logical to party when all I want is cower?

The dark, vivid memories still visit me in the gloom,

But still this stubborn brain has kept on to remember.

Don't ask me why I tossed and tuned in bed at night,

Would it be humane to slumber with your nightmares?

The vicious scene you had insisted seemed so right,

But still the web of sleep has laid myself so bare.

Don't ask me why this stubborn heart loves you as ever.

Would it help if I say I'm trying not to do so?

I know you'd want to keep your wedding vows forever.

And so my conscience has no options, but to let you go.
