DON'T BLAME ME

Kathryn Neff Perry
We were discussing the fact that we are going to have to invest in a new dryer. The one we have just isn't working the way it's supposed to.
We were laughing about the times when my husband first started helping me with the laundry. Several sweaters with "dry clean only" got laundered. They became "doggie sweaters". Then we had the problem with color safe. My son was the only one who really complained about the pink underwear.
His next lesson in laundry was learning not to dry towels with sweaters or slacks unless you like fuzz balls.
I started to blame him for ruining a load of towels last week when I realized the dryer went nuts. The delicate cycle became the normal cycle and the normal cycle became fry. The clothes were so hot when they came out of the dryer they could almost burn your hands.
We were watching TV when my daughter came storming into the family room clutching her new sweater vest in her fist. "Okay, which one of you should I thank for ruining my vest?"
"Well, honey, you know the dryer has been on the fritz this week and it overheats."
She glared at me and held the vest in front of her. "The dryer didn't turn it pink, Kathy".
