Don't Bother Watching Jeff Conaway and Celebrity Rehab; Find Something Better to Do with Your Time

Patty Oh
Maybe it was caused by the writers strike. Maybe it was caused by the popularity, and success, of so many other reality TV shows. But TV has sunk to a new low with Celebrity Rehab.

Of the many stars that appear on Celebrity Rehab is Jeff Conaway. Conaway may be best known for his role in the TV hit, Taxi. Others will remember him for his role as Kenickie in the movie, Grease. Kenickie was Rizzo's boyfriend.

Jeff Conaway is no spring chicken and has battled drug addictions or some type of addiction, for years. It shows. Maybe the only redeeming quality of this show is letting people, particularly younger people, see just how bad addictions get. How horrible they can be and how they can wreck your life. Wait a second, most young people think they're immortal and those thoughts don't come until later in life.

What does Jeff Conaway do on Celebrity Rehab? He shows you how to snort a white substance, reportedly not really cocaine. He comes in stoned and can't walk. He probably makes a fool of himself since there are cameras planted everywhere in this house where celebrities are living.

Conaway purportedly wants to come clean. That's why he's there. That's why other "celebrities" are there, too.

Ok, so this is Celebrity Rehab. How many of these celebrities, other than Jeff Conaway, have you heard of? Brigitte Nielsen. Daniel Baldwin. Chyna. Jamiee Foxworth. Jessica Sierra. Mary Carey. Seth "Shifty" Binzer.

If you've ever heard of Brigitte Nielson, please let me know. For a celebrity, I have no idea who she is. Daniel Baldwin has that Baldwin name that is so very familiar. Yes, he's the brother of Alec, William and Stephen. Stephen is currently starring in Celebrity Apprentice. Apparently being a Baldwin makes one a 'star.'

Chyna was a pro wrestler and nude model, Jaimee Foxworth was a child star in the TV hit "Family Matters." Jessica Sierra joins the growing list of American Idol contestant flops. Mary Carey was or maybe still is, a porn actress, and Seth "Shifty" Binzer is the lead singer for the band Crazy Town.

Is this really a TV show? Or is it just another way to pimp yourself out all for the sake of money? Certainly it can't be real, can it? I feel dirty even just writing about it. Blech!

On second thought, don't waste your time watching Jeff Conaway on Celebrity Rehab. You'll wind up disgusted with humanity if you do.

Brigitte Nielson...the Russian boxer's wife on Rocky. That's it for her, she's no celebrity.
I tried to watch this show...it makes me sick. There are some things that should not be televised and drug rehabilitation is one of them. Drug rehab is too personal, to use it as a form of entertainment is rock bottom low.

T.S...you're right, addiction is a disease, it's not entertainment, it's human pain. Soon they'll be televising cancer victims going through chemo. Enough is enough!

You must have been in a cave for the last 20 years if you have never heard of Brigitte Nielsen.

Jeff Conaway is an Oxycontin addict. I know many Oxycontin addicts. Most of them are dead. It is worse than Heroine, as far as kicking the habit.

I think it CAN be a message to young peopole. Some of them actually do get the message and decide to stay away from drugs.

Jeff Conaway is a hopeless case.

He wants attention and has no real goal of becoming free of addiction. He believes surgery is going to cure him and it will not.

He will have to learn to deal with the pain or live the rest of his life on drugs.

Please make me eat my words Jeff, but I truly believe you have no intention of getitng free of your drug addiction.

The person who wrote the original article is an asshole. For all who do not understand addiction, it is a disease with no cure. I hope that all the people who have this disease get help and stay clean. Good luck to all the celebrities that are getting help.

    T.S.
