Don't Jump! Escape

Cassie Mae
Her well-manicured hands toss the red sports car keys to the granite countertop. She sighs that another work day is over. She plunges into the depths of the white couch. The shear white curtains grasp towards her tired feet. They try to pull her anxiety-filled mind towards them. It works. She stands, inhales the breathtaking view. She opens the screen of the sliding door and the plush white sand contrasts the crystal blue ocean robbing her mind of her day. She melts from the beauty of it all as the beaming sun perks up her already tanned skin. As she leans on the deck, images of her calming hot tub and a refreshing glass of red wine take over her thoughts.

She walks through the pristine white living room into the modern kitchen. She glances at the abstract art piece she purchased the other day at the art gallery in her dining room. A crooked smile hints her face and a sparkle fills both of her eyes.

Above the stainless steel refrigerator she keeps her wine rack. She reaches for her favorite bottle and it brings her to a Christmas memory with her family in Wisconsin. Each of her loved ones is gathered by the tree. They chatter, laugh and share memories. Afterwards, they go caroling out in the snow-filled subdivision. A chill goes through her as she pours her wine. Life is good.

Year 'round sun, breezy palm trees, massaging sand, and the caress of the blue water filling her mind & spirit that she has made her dream and way of life come true.

The place in my mind I escape to when I cannot take my responsibilities, messy house, job, loud kids and puppy ANYMORE!!!!! Where I have always wished I lived instead of freezing Wisconsin! Someday or my next life!

Where do you escape to?

Well written with the element of surprise! I like your fantasy life. (Though it might be a bit superficial.) Your wild and crazy life is probably a lot richer in many ways, than your fantasy. But still...It would be fun for awhile, huh?
