You can get a lot of free things at Neopets but newer players often miss out on these events. You can only claim this once a month but it is a nice way to get some free food and extra NP. If you are a hoarder you will want to check the Shop Wizard to scoop up cheap food that people sell when they redeem their freebies. Everyone gets different items but there are usually twenty to thirty items given out so you will see a drop in price on some items.

The trick is finding out what others have gotten so you can compile a list to work with. The best place to get that information is from the Neopets Message Boards. People often start threads the first couple days of the month to list what they received. Last month I received: "Blue Apple Chia Pop", "Chip Butty With Tomato Sauce", "Vanilla Acara Cookie Sandwich" and "Sand Orange". This month my pets got: "Blueberry Snow Puff", "Pteri Spaghetti", "Gruel Cake" and "Toast With Jam".

If you have four pets you will get four food items and 2,000 NP - you do not get 2,000 NP per pet. The Neopoints are added to your NP on hand, not your bank account. You can collect these items and NP at any time during the month so you do not have to do it on the first or second day. I have the link bookmarked so I never miss out on it; there are a lot of daily freebies that you can take advantage of too and those are also worth bookmarking so you don't forget about them.
