The Paramount Theater in downtown Aurora provides a cool hideaway, and offers a variety of shows for your enjoyment this September. So kick off the fall season by checking out these cool performances.
First up is Clint Black, known to all the country music fans as the man behind When I Said I Do. Clint is performing on September 8 at 8 PM. The show is sponsored by Rush Copley hospital and 98.3 FM radio station. The ticket prices range from $45 to $65. Check out Clint's official site at http://www.clintblack.com/.
The following week offers up some comic relief in form of Frank Caliendo. He is performing on September 14 at 8 PM, with ticket prices ranging from $35 to $40. Frank is known for his unbelievable impressions of Donald Trump, Robin Williams, and George Bush. Check out Frank's talent by viewing clips of his shows on his site at http://www.frankcaliendo.com/.
Gordon Lightfoot, legendary singer and songwriter, visits The Paramount Theater during the third week of September, performing his classics such as If You Could Read My Mind. Gordon will be in Aurora on September 16 at 7 PM. Tickets are available from $48-58. This show is sponsored by The Drive 97.1 FM radio station, McDonalds and Schmitt Restaurant of Aurora, Oswego and Yorkville. For more on Lightfoot, visit his official site at www.lightfoot.ca/.
The Paramount Theater features the local dance troupe Ballet Folklorico Quetzalcoatl on September 22 at 7 PM. This nationally recognized dance troupe brings the culture and music of Mexico to Aurora. The troupe features 50 dancers, from children to adults. Come and enjoy their amazing choreography, authentic Mexico costumes, and traditional Mexican voice and song. This troupe has recently won at Buc Days Seventh Annual Competencia Folklorico Del Mar. Tickets cost $15 for children and $22 for adults. This show is not to be missed.
Rounding off the September performances, The Paramount Theater welcomes the comedian Roseanne Barr. She will be performing on Saturday, September 29 at 8 PM, with tickets selling for $40.50 and $50.50. You know Roseanne from her self-titled television show, where she played the smart-mouthed mom of three and a wife who knew just how to put her husband Dan in his place. She is currently hosting The Funniest Mom in America on Nick at Nite. She is in town and most definitely worth checking out. But be warned - her material is suited for adults only. For more on Roseanne, check out her site at http://www.roseanneworld.com/blog/index.php
