Don't Tell Me

Malenurse
Don't tell me how my life is,
Because I really do not want to know.
Don't tell me how I fell,
Or where you think I need to go.
Don't tell me what is wrong with me,
Like it's nothing I have heard before.
Don't tell me what to think,
Because I don't even care anymore.
Don't tell me how to fix,
Problems I did not even know I had.
Don't tell me how to be happy,
When everything in life seems so sad.
Don't tell me who you think I am,
I should be able to figure that out on my own.
Don't tell me how I used to be,
As if you have always known.
Don't tell me how to react,
To all the things I can not control.
Don't tell me how to understand,
The pain that consumes my soul.
Don't tell me that I can not hate,
When I see nothing good at all.
Don't tell me how to stand,
If you are not going to catch me when I fall.
Don't tell me how to live,
I can make it just fine on my own.
Don't tell me how to be me,
I will be just fine all alone.
