Everybody, including myself, has dropped an electronic device in water at some point in time and end up turning it on to find out they may have just ruined it. One of the best ways to avoid throwing away an electronic gadget after it has gotten wet is by leaving it off until the electric gadget is fully dry. Many times people will have their phone or other electronic gadget with them next to water and before they know it the gadget is in the water and they are throwing away electronic gadget. If a person was lucky enough they would not need to be throwing away electronic gadget after it got wet, that will of course depends on whether or not the gadget was on or off. So how can you save an electronic gadget after it got wet?

If a gadget is on when it gets wet, chances are it was damaged instantly, that of course will depend on the case it is in and how fast water seeps through it. If the device still appears undamaged after removing it from the water immediately turn it off, this may help prevent throwing away the electronic gadget after it got wet. No one wants to be throwing away electronics especially if they are not easily replaced, in order to save an electronic gadget after it has gotten wet, first you must dry it off, then avoid turning it on until it is completely dry. One way of drying out an electronic gadget after it got wet is by using rice, the first step is to dry the outside of the case by any means possible, then put the electronic gadget that got wet in a bowl of dry rice. If by chance your electronic gadget got wet in muddy water, you can clean it while it is off and then place it in the rice bowl. Leave the gadget in the rice bowl at least a day or two before turning it on to check to see if it has dried.

Saving an electronic gadget after it has gotten wet depends on whether it was on or off, or possibly if it was ruined before being taken out of the water. The best way to save your electronic gadget after it got wet is by drying it off completely and putting it in a bowl of rice. The length of time an electronic gadget should be in a rice bowl, is not known possibly one day or one week, that will be a personal judgment.
