I usually purchase lip balms rather than lip gloss. I find that lip balms keep my lips hydrated and give them a slight shine. However, when an item is free, then it is fun to try out.
The tube of Estee Lauder High Gloss Ultra Brilliance is similar to the regular size one, but smaller. I did go on their website to find the price, which is $16, and also the size of the full size one. I couldn't find it anywhere on their website.
The size of the sample is .27 fluid ounces (7 ml.). It is a perfect size to put in my handbag, or purse, and use when needed. The color I have is Amethyst. As my birthday is February 14th, that is the color of my birthstone. However, this lip gloss looks more like a bronze color, than the purple color of amethyst.
It comes in a clear plastic tube, with a clear screw cap on it. Once taken off it has an angled top with a hole in the middle, for the lip gloss to come out. I have very thin lips, so I knew that being a smaller sample size, I wouldn't have the lip gloss going over the edges.
I put the tube right onto my top lip and squeezed gently. Out came some of the lip gloss, and I carefully spread it over it. I then did the same with the bottom lip.
I pursed my lips together, and the first thing I noticed was that they almost stuck together. I know that this is a high gloss, but I was hoping that it wouldn't be sticky, or feel unnatural on my lips.
For the first half an hour I kept rubbing them together, and wanted to take it off. It felt like I had honey, on my lips, and it was really annoying. I made myself focus on other things.
When I had a drink of coffee, some of the lip gloss came off. I checked on the white cup, and no color was on the cup, just stickiness.
The final lip gloss came off when I was eating lunch. I didn't bother to put anymore on as it was such a disappointment to me. I normally love Estee Lauder products, and I am really delighted that I received a sample, and didn't have to pay for it. I will clean off the top and give it to a charity shop.
This is what Estee Lauder say about their product:
"Wet your lips with luscious supershine.
Wet Shine Sheer
Wearable shades create a moist, plump, smooth look.
Irresistible color and brilliance with sheer coverage.
Feel-good conditioners caress your lips. Never feels sticky."
Colors: Berry, Amethyst, Honey, Rose, Jewel, Clear, Blush, Pearl, Bronze, and Golden Goddess.
Sorry Estee Lauder, but on this occasion I do not agree with you.

I know that feeling Debbie. Even here in Florida we are freezing.
Thanks for the warning.
Great article. The only thing I use lately is Carmex... my lips are so chapped from this horrible chilly weather we're having lately.
Thanks for the info. My sister's birthday is Feb. 14 also.
