Dora the Explorer : Dora Knows Your Name

My five year old daughter has always been a fan of Dora the Explorer and knows just about every word that comes out of the small idols mouth. She is no doubt, a cartoon character but a very famous one.

I have celebrated Dora on many occasions including birthdays, outings, and even Christmas. She has become well known in our house. It took me a while to realize what my daughter was talking about when she made up a game that was called " Swiper no swiping", one of Dora's favorite lines.

Every holiday or celebration, I know exactly what to get her to make her eyes gleam.

This last Christmas I found myself wondering the isles of Target in search of that perfect gift for her. I was running out of ideas. I knew that she would love to have another Dora doll but on the other hand, she never even plays with the other ones that she has anymore.

I decided to go to the restroom after hours of endless searching. I came across something that had caught my eye. It was another Dora doll, but this one was different.

This new Dora doll can actually say my child's name. At this point, I am deeply impressed with all of the new technology that this world has come up with.

Now this I had to check out. I picked up the box and turned it over to see what else this wonder Dora could do. The Dora doll featured over 100 games, phrases, and stories. Wow, she can even be taught to know your child's birthday, name, favorite color, favorite food, and more.

I had to get this doll for her.

I purchased this Dora doll and felt like a kid in a toy store, I couldn't wait to get it home and check out all of it's gadgets.I wish I would have picked up extra batteries because by the time I am through, they will probably be ran down.

I got the doll home and hooked it up to the CD ROM that came with it. I was truly amazed at everything that she could do with just one click of a mouse. Dora could even tell between morning, noon, and night. This would make bedtime perfect. When it is your child's bedtime Dora actually says," it's time to go to be". I think I should have probably bought one for myself.

This was probably the easiest thing that I have ever had to program in my life. I know that she will have loads of fun with this new Dora doll.

The moment of truth. It is now Christmas and Dora is wrapped away under the Christmas tree. I had to save the best for last. I was probably more excited than what she was. I couldn't wait to see her little eyes when she opened this wonderful gift. I had been antisipating this moment for the longest time and now it was time for her little hands to open up the gift and to see what was inside.

She slowly begins to open the box but out of excitement I ripped open the paper for her. She at first just looked at it in a daring stare and then pushed it's tummy. The first thing out of Dora's mouth was," Holla, Autumn." You should have seen the look on my daughter's face when she realized that her favorite character and imaginary best friend new her name. The excitement, the glory, it was all too wonderful for words to express.

I couldn't believe that this Dora doll would be such a perfect gift for someone so small.

"wondering the isles"... don't you mean wAndering the Aisles?!?!? Intelligent thoughts. Makes me want to run out and buy Dora for sure. You've "Celebrated Dora"?? What is that supposed to mean?
