Dora Knows Your Name Doll: The Perfect Gift for Dora Fans

Is your child a Dora the Explorer fan? They are and they have a birthday coming up soon or if you would just like to get them something nice; something that they would enjoy, you are urged to examine one of the "hottest," Dora toys current available for sale; at least I think that it is! The Dora Knows Your Name Doll may be the perfect gift for your Dora fan, no matter how old or young they are.

The Dora Knows Your Name Doll is a twelve inch doll, but it isn't any ole traditional doll. As you likely assumed, from the name, Dora knows your child's name. Of course, this is after you successfully install the program software and upload your preferences to the doll. While it may seem like a complicated task, it isn't. In fact, it was a lot easier than I imagined it would be.

To begin installation, you must first install the software CD on your computer. This installation will take a few minutes, at the most. What I loved, and I mean absolutely loved, about the Dora Knows Your Name Doll is that you can upload your child's information while the doll stays fastened in the box! There is a neat little compartment in the back, where you can easily retrieve the software CD, the provided USB computer cable, and you can easily reach the speaker box, which is also where the USB computer cable will hookup. I found it absolutely amazing that you can have this doll fully programmed before it is even out of the box.

Back to the installation, once you start running the Dora Knows Your Name Doll software CD, an installation window will appear. This will guide you step-by-step, literally, with the doll setup. Even if you lack computer experience, you can easily have your child's Dora the Explorer doll up and running in no time at all. The first step involves selecting your child name. There are hundreds of names to choose from; therefore, there is a good chance that your child's name will be one of them. In fact, my daughter's name, which is Sarah, had over six different pronunciations for me to choose from!

Although you might assume that your job is finished as soon as your child's name is selected, it isn't. What is even more amazing about the Dora Knows Your Name Doll is that it doesn't just know your child's name. There are a large number of other favorites that this doll can recognize. For instance, you are able to choose your child's favorite color and their favorite animal. After making those selections, you will move on to foods. You can choose one favorite food, from a large selection of foods, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You even get to select your child's favorite drink! You can also program three names into the doll. These names are virtually unlimited. It is also important to note that "Mommy," and "Daddy," are included in the list. Personally, we programmed those and our dog's name.

Another programming option that you have is another one that I find just awesome. You are able to program your child's birthday into the doll. If you choose the option to do so, the Dora Knows Your Name Doll will also count down the days to your child's birthday and/or the date of their birthday party! In fact, you can also choose to have Dora sing a birthday song to your child. Speaking of songs, you have the option of choosing three items from a list of fifteen songs, stories, and games. If your child is a Dora the Explorer fan, they will recognize many, if not all, of the songs played. The stories are neat and the games are amazing. Just a couple of the games included are number explorer and color explorer. You can sample each song, story, and game before making your selections.

As it was mentioned above, you can program your child's birthday into the doll and it will recognize it. This is because when you upload your preferences, the doll is also programmed with your computer's time clock. That leads to another neat feature; the daily planner. You can drag a list of activites, which include waking up, eating lunch, taking a nap, eating dinner, and going to bed. You can position them in the time slot of your choice. When it is it time to do so, the Dora doll, using your child's name, will prompt them do eat dinner, and so forth.

Once you have selected all of your child's favorite items, you can then choose the easy "download to Dora," option. Within minutes, at the most, your child's new toy will be ready to go. If you have a Dora the Explorer fan in your home or if you know one, I encourage you to examine this toy. My daughter lit up with excitement as soon as she realized that Dora knew her name!
