Dorm Room Essentials

Crystal Sciarini
Dorm rooms are not luxery condos. Every college student will need to maximize their dorm room space and make every inch count. Here are some great space saving, organizational dorm room essentials.

Side Kick Saddlebag Organizer $9.99
Store essentials in this easy to reach organizer. The organizer has a top flap that rests between the mattress and box spring, leaving the organizer pockets to hang down along the boxspring. Great for college students who prefer to study on their bed rather than at a desk.

Sweater and Shoe Organizer $23.99
This ten pocket and three shelf closet organizer is perfect for organizing a small dorm room closet. Use this organizer to store socks, underwear, and more in just one foot of space.

Over the Door Canvas Organizer with Mirror $19.99
Dormitory full of girls and only one bathroom? Use the back of your closet door and organize all your morning accessories and all your shoes! The over the door organizer also has a small mirror so that you no longer have to fight for mirror space in the bathroom or wait for your roommate to finish getting ready.

Cling Thing Message Board $9.99
Does your college have a no holes in the wall rule? Then the Cling Thing is a dorm room essential for you! The Cling Thing has a removable, reusable sticky back that sticks to your dorm room wall. The front side of the Cling Thing is a revolutionary sticky material that almost anything clings to! Now you can posts notes, papers, and CD's without tape or tacks.

Bed Risers $14.99 and up
Bed risers may seem like an odd dorm room essential. However, the bed risers will come in handy for increasing under the bed storage. By adding bed risers to your dorm room bed you should be able to double the under bed storage space. Once the risers are added most beds will then have enough space to stack under the bed containers two high instead of one high.

Basket Shower Tote $9.99
Keep all your bathroom essentials stored in this lightweight portable basket style tote. The tote features many small compartments for razor, soap, toothbrush and more and large compartments for bottles and washcloth. The bottom of this dorm room essential is raised off the floor and has drainage holes so the tote can be set on the shower floor without any worries of floating away!

I would also recommend:
File storage
Alarm clock with radio and CD player
Desk caddy
Comfortable desk chair

Nice article. I don't ever plan on living in a dorm because I seriously doubt they'd allow me to bring my cat but if I did this article would be very useful.
