Dorothea Puente - Profile of a Female Serial Killer
Ms. Puente's neighbors were always complaining about the scent surrounding her home. She made many excuses but no one could ever figure out why it smelled so badly. Her parlor stank of a rotting smell and lemon spray she used to cover it, and her neighbors saw her in her back yard often pouring lime all over. What her neighbors were unaware of was her jail time for drugging and stealing people she met at bars, and her diagnosed schizophrenia.
What really brought everything to a climax was the very social worker that had been sending the elderly and informed to Dorothea's boarding house started to get concerned. Although elderly she would usually see these people often and many of them had disappeared, however their social security checks were still be cashed. The social worker told the police that her clients were gone and could not be contacted. The police dropped by in the beginning of November 1988, and brought shovels just a week later their suspicions high.
The truth came out just a few days later when they dug up the first body and then the second and third and so on. They found 9 which was plenty they stopped looking after that. However after the story came out many families called the local precinct stating that they had family that was supposed to be there, however they could not be accounted for living or dead. Police believe there could actually be up to 25 people murdered. Many of the bodies found had been decapitated and they could not find all the body parts.
The motive here was greed. Dorothea was drugging and killing her boarders and then cashing their social security checks herself. She managed to keep up appearances and donate to charities in the area with the money she was taking by murdering the very people she was supposed to be caring for. Dorothea Puente was convicted of killing 4 out of the 9 people they found and is serving a life sentence. Unfortunately 5 of the bodies found in the backyard of this female serial killer still do not have names or identities.

Post a CommentI to was Dorothea Puentes roommate, she was kind to those she liked, and got revenge with you if you crossed her,i still write to her, she did some very awful things, but she did not scare me, she did have a saying"ONE MORE WONT MAKE A DIFFERENCE". She is ill with stage 4 colon cancer and not expected to live very much longer, we are not to judge, she will meet the one who will Judge her on her day, those who have no sin, through the first stone, but sin is sin, no matter what it is. So if you live without sin through that stone,and ask yourself if you live a sin free life? I dont like what she did at all, but she is dying and will meet the Judge.

thats kind of scare no one new she was killing people and they talk to her every day like she was a normal person. it makes you think who do you really live next to? =)

she was a good woman..........she would never do that...............she was providing food for her roses!

One of the saddest things about the mobile society we have is that families no longer live together in the same town (for the most part) and as a result the elderly are rarely in daily contact with their family. Once they can no longer care for themselves, and are not living independently, they are vulnerable to this type of predator. Had the families of the victims been in daily phone contact with their elderly relatives, this murderess would not have been able to get away with her horrific crimes long enough to kill so many, nor would she have been able to profit from it. That last might have stopped her in the first place.
