Young was driving westbound on US 36 just west of Stewartsville, Missouri when she lost control of her Cadillac Catera on the snow covered roadway. The vehicle ran off the south side of the roadway and overturned several times, coming to rest on it's wheels facing south in the median.
Her husband, Robert T. Young, 73, was riding in the passenger seat. Both of them were wearing their seat belts. Dorothy Young died at 3:45 pm on the scene. Robert faced only minor injuries and was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center.
