Take a Class. Local high schools and community centers offer a wonderful variety of classes for adults in the evening. Make your selection based on a mutual interest or a shared passion. Take an Asian cooking class and experiment with creating new and exciting dishes. Attend a lecture about the Amazon. Try your hands at Watercolor painting. Choose any class that will enable the four of you to learn something new and have fun at the same time. End the evening with a discussion about the evening over coffee and pastries.
Visit an Art Gallery or Museum. It can be difficult to enjoy these sorts of activities when you need to bring along bored and sulky children. However, sharing these cultural experiences with another couple who shares your interests can be a very rewarding experience. Meet at the entrance and then share an evening of taking in the sights. A late dinner at a restaurant that doesn't offer menus you can color on will end the double date night on a terrific note.
Go to a Concert Together. Take advantage of a night out with friends to listen to music from your era, instead of your children's. A little bit of Tailgating in the parking lot of the venue can give you all a chance to relax, snack and enjoy a few drinks before the show. Be sure to designate a sober driver or use public transportation in case any alcohol is consumed during the night.
Attend a Local Wine Tasting. Visit the website of your local winery to see what wine tasting events are on the upcoming schedule. The four of you can spend a terrific afternoon or evening tasting the wines of the area and exploring the grounds. A light dinner at a nearby cafe or restaurant can cap off the date night. Keep the wine consumption to a minimum to ensure that a safe trip home is had by all.
Go Casual With Bowling or Pool. If dressing in anything other than the most comfortable of clothes is simply not appealing to the four of you on a particular night, go super casual with pizza and beer followed by either a few games of Pool or Bowling. The casual dress and relaxed atmosphere will create a wonderful feeling opportunity to really kick back and shed the stresses of the day.
Invite your favorite couple to share a fun night out with you and your spouse. The time with good friends will relax and rejuvenate you for the upcoming week.
