Double Date for Safety's Sake
Dating Someone New Has Hazzards. Play it Safe and Make the First Few Dates a Double Date with Friends
My dates were guys from my High School or lived in the neighborhood. At times, a friend set me up with a friend of a friend, and we would Double Date. I met my first husband that way. Travel was limited so anyone we met lived within walking distance. When we dated out of our immediate area we used the Subway Transit System and went into New York City.
Today things are different. Meeting a new man or woman from the other end of the world can easily occur. You can speak to your date in the morning and by evening they could be in your house.
Most dates begin by meeting on the Internet. We see what others want us to see, and we hear what they want us to hear. However, do you know if what they say is the truth or merely a part of a game. Double Date and be safer.
This generation has the ability to know what the other person looks like by sending and receiving photographs or using a telephone that takes and receives pictures. However, can you absolutely be sure that the person you see is the one you are going to date? Are they being truthful or lying? Are you certain there is truth in their words?
How can you tell if you will be safe with on your first date. Many tell lies to bait you. The younger your age, the bigger the lie. Older men or women stalk those who appear to be young and lonely. Be careful who you talk to on the Internet and what you tell them about yourself. Never trust a stranger is a rule of thumb to follow. Double Date until you are absolutely sure that the person you are going to date is safe.
There are other places to meet a guy or girl apart from the Internet. The possibilities are endless. Meeting someone in person inside a Mall, bookstore or while grocery shopping does not make that person any safer to date. You know nothing about them except what you are told. Double Dating is the safest way to date. If potential date objects, then do not accept the date.
Never reveal your home address, phone number or any information relating to your family.
If you are asked for a a second date, take a friend along. Never meet him alone until you get to know him. Going on a Double Date is safer. If you cannot find a friend, ask your sister, brother or even your mother to come along.
After the First Date
He was polite and pleasant at dinner but you two were not alone. An other couple joined you. If he asks for a second date, even if is only going to to a movie, the beach or a picnic in the park meet him in your own car and with your friends.. There is safety in numbers no matter where you go. Do not ask him to pick you up. He can easily see where you live and stalk you.
Do not endanger your family. Get to learn more about your date and have proof of what he or she says before trusting them. Until you know he or she longer, do not get into their car. Trust your instincts; do not be charmed. Always keep your wits about you. There is the possibility of danger regardless of whether the date is a woman or a man. Always Double Date until you are sure.
Learn what you can about their past; their schooling, where he or she lived and their interests.
Find out as much as you can about them. Ask questions and allow them to do the talking. Be attentive to what they say. Do not divulge personal information.
Better to be safe than sorry is an old adage that remains to this day. Being safe should be your main concern when dating. Play it safe and Double Date. These days it seems there are more men or women intent on harming you, than the the good ones who are keepers. Until you get to know them better, be safe and continue to Double Date.

Good work!!
Good warning tips.
Hope you had a good Shrove Tuesday/Mardi Gras if you celebrate! If not, hope you had a happy Tuesday and are having a good Wednesday!
Dating is very different now than I was a kid. You offer good advice and I always liked double dating.
Good Advice...:0)
This is a great idea.
I say this all the time and am glad to see that you've said it too.
Meet in public, don't give your address. Say your football player son is going to stop by the restaurant to say hi. If you have the date's address, check him out on google earth! Never call without blocking your phone number first..
Thank goodness I'm married - it's a treacherous dating world out there these days! cheers and double up :)
