Doubts and Fears

Shirley A Mandel
Dear Lord
there are doubts and fears,
at a certain level,
in my heart tonight.
And though I do not doubt
the power
of your atoning work on the cross,
I doubt
the quality of my faith.

But it only takes a small amount
of faith to remove
mountains of sin
that stand between
the Kingdom of God
and us.

But since it is not the size
of my faith or the quality
of my love for You
that saves anyway,
and your blood alone
and my acceptance
of Your sacrifice
that saves me,
I commit my heart to You.
I commit my soul to You.

Only You and your Word
can dispel doubts and fears.

So I commit my heart to You.
I commit my soul to You, Lord.

Amen

Shirley, you are ever near to Him. Your heart is with Him. Why worry? Leave the rest to Him to sort out! Thanks for your great words of encouragement that is just outpouring! When you love your fellow travellers that much, one can only imagine your feelings and love for Him. He will never forsake you, never! - siva

I wish the tale of global warming, had a little truth to it, in the chill of winter. Used electric space heaters are not staying on the shelf long at thrift stores, these days. Good luck.

Good words, Shirley. I sometimes think that Christians are lead to believe that they should never doubt, never fear, somehow be a superhuman. That is foolishness. All through the letters of Paul the we see moments of uncertainty and worry. The Psalm are written because we need the words of God to help us in these times of personal battles. Thank your, Shirley, for an honest report. It begins, we worry, we fret, and finally we give it back to our Lord.

Keep committing your heart and soul to Him Shirley. He'll see you through even in the midst of those harsh and rough times.

We all have moments of doubt - even David did in Psalm 25 when he said, "Do not remember the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways..." but the Lord remembers not our foolish past. cheers ;)
