Fair Game is an upcoming political thriller and dramatization based on the true story of Valerie Plame and her husband Joseph Wilson and is directed by Doug Liman. Doug Liman is best known for The Bourne Identity in 2002, Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2005, and Jumper in 2008. Fair Game made its debut on May 20, 2010 in Cannes France at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival and was the only American contender up for the Palme d'Or this year and walked away empty handed. Sean Penn and Naomi Watts play the role of the real lives of Valerie Plame and Joseph Wilson. Big name stars, Sean Penn and Naomi Watts are perfect to play the roles of Valerie Plame and Joseph Wilson and the film will attract many of their fans as well as political thriller fans. Fair Game will be an interesting film that will give us a better look and understanding at what happened seven years ago and the struggles Valerie Plame and her husband Joseph Wilson faced with the public, their private lives, and dealing with Valerie Plame's undercover status being compromised by leaks from the Bush Administration to journalists during The Plame Affair.

The Plame Affair was an alleged plot by members of the George W. Bush's administration to blow the cover of Valerie Plame by revealing her status as a CIA covert agent to discredit her husband, Joseph Wilson, after he wrote an op-ed for the New York Times arguing that the Bush Administration manipulated intelligence reports about weapons of mass destruction in order to justify the invasion of Iraq and explaining that the United States government lied about Iraq buying nuclear materials from Africa. The story was leaked to the public in 2003 when syndicated columnist Robert Novak published Valerie Plame Wilson as a CIA "operative" in his column as well as the organizational name of the company she used as cover, Brewster Jennins & Associates. In 2005, Valerie Plame and her husband left the CIA and filed a civil suit against Vice President Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and Lewis "Scooter" Libby. Even though Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage admitted they leaked her agency status to journalists, Libby was convicted of lying to a federal grand jury about his role in compromising her covert status.

Although the film Fair Game has not been released in the United States, there have been some good reviews after its premiere at the 63rd Cannes Film Festival. James Richard from IFC.com thought the movies was directed very well by Doug Liman, Joe Utichi from Cinematica.com thought that Doug Liman showed that he is versatile in yet another area of film directing, and Kirk Honeycutt from HollywoodReporter.com thought that this might be one of the best spy movies that we have seen.

The film, Fair Game is rated PG-13 and is expected to be released sometime later this year. Other cast members include, Ty Burrell, Bruce McGill, Brooke Smith, Michael Kelly, David Denman, Noah Emmerich, David Andres, Iris Bahr, Louis Ozawa Changchien, David Warshofsky, Khaled Nabawy, Ashley Gerasimovich, Satya Bhabha, Tim Griffin, David Rickabaugh, Remy Auberjonois, Anand Tiwari, Philipp Karner, Kristoffer Ryan Winters, Deidre Goodwin, Tricia Munford, Geoffrey Cantor, Sean Patick Reilly, Sunil Malhotra, Naeem Uziman, Revekah Paltrow, Liaraz Charhi, Harry L.
