Doug Wilson Arrested for DUI in Illinois; Trading Places Star Accused of Breaking Several Laws

Trading Spaces Interior Designer Doug Wilson was Arrested for Driving Under Influence

Doug Wilson was arrested for a DUI in Illinois. Doug Wilson is an interior designer on the TLC show Trading Spaces, and has made a living off of decorating houses. It was reported by E! Entertainment that the designer/actor was arrested in his home state of Illinois at about 1 a.m. early Tuesday morning after he had been pulled over by the police. He was taken into custody where he was charged not only with a DUI, but several other offenses. It was also reported that he was booked into Decatur County Jail, and later released on a $1,000 bond.

Doug Wilson's arrest happened when he was driving under the influence, and apparently didn't notice a police vehicle. When the police vehicle turned on its lights and had its sirens wailing, Wilson still refused to stop, and was eventually pulled over and found to be drunk. Wilson was then taken into custody and charged with several infractions; including an aggravated DUI, driving on a suspended license, failing to yield the right-of-way to an emergency vehicle and unlawful transportation of alcohol.

Wilson joins actor Matt Dillon and former NBA star Charles Barkley who were also arrested in the past two days, Dillon for speeding at 106 MPH, and Barkley on suspicion that he, too, was driving under the influence. To the press this is another celebrity who has placed himself in the news for committing unlawful acts, but to the public as a whole, this is becoming a story that is all too common, and becoming ridiculously frequent amongst people in the lime-light.

It is becoming all-too-common for celebrities to get caught drinking and driving, and one would think that people getting paid to perform like this would actually think twice before breaking the law. These people, Doug Wilson, if convicted, are putting other people in danger, and the blatant response by Wilson to simply ignore the police trying to pull him over either raises suspicion that he was too drunk to figure out what was going on or that he just didn't care. Neither is a good option, and in instances like these, an educational channel like TLC should consider cutting ties ties to him, if he is guilty.
