January 12, 2011. Major roads Hwy 5, Bankhead Hwy. and Fairburn Rd. in Douglasville, Ga. USA are safe and clear at 3:00 p.m. for local travelers until the hours of 8:00 p.m. tonight, whenever the roads are supposed to freeze over once again dipping down into the lower teen temperatures of nearly 14 degrees, with the wind-chill factor below zero creating this invisible "Black Ice" freezing water effect for all drivers in this area.

(Warning: All drivers are cautioned to stay off the roads after 8:00 p.m. anywhere here in southern Metro-Atlanta, Ga. USA., because of this thin invisible sheet layer of ice, which is nearly impossible to see with the naked-eye, which can also cause an unexpected fatality at high speeds on the Interstates. Rescue workers will also experience the same road problems if you call 911 for immediate help).

The local Douglasville Wal-mart was ironically crowded with customers re-stocking their homes with bread, milk, eggs, orange juice and butter, which all of these shelves were almost empty, possibly because local residents were buying too many of the same items all at once, creating more problems for starving consumers and route drivers of these particular daily stocked items, who will have to drive throughout the night. based on these horrible icy roads just to keep their jobs.

I noticed one Wal-mart Douglasville shopper purchasing (14) fourteen gallons of milk in one shopping cart. Another shopper had nearly 12 loafs of bread in another cart. All though, the major roads in Douglasville, Ga. have been announced to be officially open by this next day afternoon of 4:00 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011. Hopefully, the predicted sunshine will melt away the majority of the ice and snow as told by "The Weather Channel" here in Atlanta, Ga. USA.

At 4:00 p.m. on this particular date and time, we safely reached the Arbor Place Mall in Douglasville, Ga., favorably and remarkably noticing how many cars were in the parking lot, most likely because so many local residents had "cabin fever" or just simply wanted to get out of the house, after being stranded for nearly 3 days since this past Sunday night of January 2011 snow storm hit. Most of the shoppers seemed be happy, relieved and contented, showing very little signs of school students in this district of metro-Atlanta, Ga. USA.

Most of the Arbor Place Mall Douglasville stores were closed. It looked like all of the food court mall restaurants were open at the time and as always the Regal Cinema was open. I personally even took the time to complete a survey within the mall's market research company, which paid me $10.00 for my time! My employer has been closed for the past three days and I personally decided "what better way to make up for cabin fever and make a revenue of loss at the same time!"

On our way back home here in Douglasville Ga. around 5:00 p.m. the main streets had cleared much more. Creating less hazardous traveling conditions for local motorist, thus seeing any signs of anyone being stranded on the side of the road, no pedestrians walking down the street asking for help. However? I did not see any signs of local government vehicles clearing off these major Douglasville roads?

The snow on the side of the road seem to be thrown off from traveling vehicles. "Which makes me wonder?" Is southern Douglasville Ga. prepared for this hazardous driving condition? The same as Atlanta, Ga.... All though these roads were safe for driving provided that you drive in the thoroughly traveled snow path in the center of the road, which was not obviously cleared away regarding government vehicles.

In other words? There was a gigantic traveling path of snow and ice in the center of the of the road created from other vehicle drivers, similar to the way the older travelers of the 19th century traveled back in the western days of the USA. If you travel this path carefully, you will not have any problems, which will most likely continue until the clearing late hours of Thursday, January 13, 2011. here in Douglasvile, Ga.

At this present time of Douglasville, Ga. history on this date of January 12, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. eastern time USA. All Douglas County Ga. schools are closed and the secondary roads, also known as subdivision neighborhood roads are not passable, due to the ice and snow of 4-6 inches, which also local DOT officials seem to care about at the time, and local residents have never seen.

Most likely? These schools, government offices and local businesses here in Douglasville, Ga. will not be open until the following Monday. " Fortunately? Let's cross our fingers and thank God! We still have electricity." in the southern part of the USA. which can create more problems than anyone can imagine, especially if you heat with electricity!" If anyone can remember the horrible ice-storm of January 1973, which all metro-Atlanta residents had no power for three days.
