Down MS Road

Thoughts on MS (Multiple Sclerosis)

Multiple Sclerosis

They said it was her nerve cells and lost me on statistics
Trying to console our fears by spouting my wife's logistics.
I tried to reassure her too by offering a little humor,
At least her vertigo was neither Mad Cow or some tumor.
The disease was one I'd heard of but could never guess.
Even Montel has it: the disease they call MS.
They said she might get sicker, not walk, speak, or write.
As they went through all the maybes, her hand clenched mine so tight.
They asked if I had questions, but my voice was stalled by shock.
When suddenly life changes, you just want to stop the clock.
So I tried to read up on stuff just to see what could be done
And the only info I absorbed is MS's a scary one.
MS can not be cured and many doctors puzzle still.
It's like looking at a daunting path that veers straight up a hill.
I don't know why she's sick right now, but I know we'll find a way.
I hear that going through MS is to live just day to day,
She's a strong-willed woman though; just ask anyone who knows her.
If anything, I guarantee this thing will make us closer.
I love my wife with all my heart, she's not a storm to weather.
Wherever we go down MS road, we'll take the trip together.
