Families often have hard times finding restaurants that are not only family friendly but that are delicious and a unique experience. Downtown Aquarium Restaurant in Denver, Colorado is a great choice for families and non families alike. The Downtown Aquarium restaurant offers delicious food, but the food isn't the best part of this meal. The unique thing about the downtown aquarium restaurant is that you get to eat in the middle of a 150,000 gallon aquarium, filled with tons of different marine life and sea creatures.

The menu at Denver's Downtown Aquarium restaurant specializes in many different seafood selections. They have many different seafood choices such as sea bass, salmon, and trout. The also have around 10 different shrimp selections from fried and grilled shrimp to their delicious grilled shrimp embrochette. The embrochette features grilled shrimp stuffed with jalapenos and cheese then wrapped in bacon, it is delicious and a must try for any shrimp lover. If eating seafood while fish swim around you seems weird they have lots of other choices. They have many chicken and beef options, they also offer a wide array of sandwiches. Their cheese-steak sandwich is delicious and is one of the cheapest things on the menu. If you plan on getting one of their specialty drinks I recommend getting it in their souvenir glass. It costs $3 extra to get your drink in their specialty souvenir glass, by doing this you not only get a larger drink but you get to keep your souvenir glass.

The Denver Downtown Aquarium restaurant is located at 700 Water St., near the I-25. They are open Sunday- Thursday 11-9, Friday and Saturday 11-10. Reservations are not required, but you can call (303) 561-4450 for priority seating. If you plan on dining during the middle of the day or during the week you should have no problem getting a seat right away, but if you are dining during peak hours they is often a wait. Dress is casual, and the whole family will feel comfortable at the Downtown Aquarium restaurant.

Parking is $6, and admission into the aquarium is $13.75, but they offer a exhibit discount and free parking with your restaurant receipt. The meals vary in price from $10-12 dollars for their sandwich options up to $30 for their featured seafood selections. The kids menu items around $5. I think their prices are all very reasonable for the experience that you get by eating inside of an aquarium and getting to watch the different animals swim around while you eat.

I definitely recommend this restaurant to families with children of all ages. Downtown Aquarium restaurant is also a great choice for couples looking for a unique evening. If you are an adult looking for something different from the restaurant, they also have a Dive Lounge that is an upscale lounge that is perfect for relaxing with friends before or after dinner. If you are visiting Denver and looking for a great restaurant that the whole family will enjoy the Downtown Aquarium restaurant is a great choice.
