Downtown Brooklyn B54 MetroTech Bus Service Resumes
Neighborhood: Downtown Brooklyn
Brooklyn, NY 11201
United States of America
Bus service through Downtown Brooklyn's MetroTech will be restored for the first time since 9/11 according to an announcement made at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Board committee meeting.

MTA's press release includes information on how service for the B54 bus line was stopped in 2001 due to increased security measures. The bus will be rerouted from Tillary Street and Flatbush Avenue to Lawrence Street and MetroTech Walk.

The change in the B54 bus route will provide a faster route from Queens to Downtown Brooklyn and those transferring from the subway. Bus stops at Myrtle Avenue, Jay and Tillary Streets will be discontinued. More information on the new B54 bus route can be found here.
