There has been a lot of speculation about the upcoming Brooklyn streetcar study, and now a route has been created. According to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, Bob Diamond released a copy of the proposed trolley route. Bob Diamond has been advocating for streetcars ever since 1989 and is the president of the Brooklyn Historic Railway Association.

The streetcar proposal includes a route that would run from Red Hook to Downtown Brooklyn. The trolley would run from Red Hook down Beard Street to Fairway and Richards Street. It would then go through Cobble Hill via Columbia Street and make a right onto Atlantic Avenue.

From there the trolley would circle around in Downtown Brooklyn on Livingston and Fulton before heading back to Red Hook on Van Brunt Street. The funds for this proposed method of mass transit were released by the Department of Transportation, and the project may be eligible to receive federal stimulus funds.
