The things to see and do in Columbus...where to begin? There are alot of things in the Downtown area. Just ask any of the locals that live in the city and they will most likely point you in that direction. It's heyday began back in the late 1800's and died down around the mid-80's. It sprang back to life in the early part of the new century and is growing by leaps and bounds!

Now, for the "to do" list...If you are science-minded, you may want to try The Coca-Cola Space and Science Museum. It's a fun place with activities for every age. You can walk inside a replica of an actual NASA spaceship, fly one of the flight simulators, tell the weather, play with rovers on "Mars" and even find out your weight on the moon just by stepping on a scale!

If you like the beauty of nature, try the Riverwalk that lies behind the museum. It has miles of concrete walking trails that you can walk, run or, if you are feeling up to a challenge, you can bike it. It's a very safe and well lit place with plenty of security and no known violence. People even get married there! It also has a restraunt overlooking the river.

If you are looking for a secondary school to attend, try Columbus State University (Go Cougars!). It has a very broad curriculum that ranges from nursing to art and everything in between! People from all over the world come here just to go to school. So if you are looking for a great school that is affordable and beautful too, then look into C.S.U.

Now for the night life. If you are looking for a great place to chill out, go for Dailey's. It used to be BoneHeads but Dailey's opened in its spot awhile back. Then there is Scruffy Murphy's right next door. Great lively atmosphere and the bartenders know their stuff. Across the street is Oxygen, the Tap, The Loft,...there is something for everyone. If you are looking for a great deal, try Picasso's Pizza. They have a Hop (beer), Shot and Slice for $5.00!!! It seems as though everyone hits Picasso's before the end of the night!

It's been great living here in the great city of Columbus, Georgia. I will be doing some more information pieces in the near future. Come to Columbus, Georgia and see the beauty.

As a Columbus native living in Atlanta, it was nice reading something positive about my hometown.
