Downtown Stillwater - Two Fabulous Resale Stores: Elite Repeat and Karman Korner Resale

Downtown Stillwater, Oklahoma, has existed since 1889. Stillwater is the county seat of Payne County and populated by close to 50,000 people. The census in 2010 is eagerly awaited. If Stillwater makes the 50,000 people mark, it will attract more attention of those who rate the quality of business-environments of American cities and town.

At one time, it had a hotel and several entertainment facilities along Main Street and was the hub of activity on weekends. Today, one of downtown Stillwater's main attractions are the resale stores. Two of them stand out for the quality of merchandise they are selling: Elite Repeat and Karman Korner Resale.

Both Elite Repeat and Karman Korner Resale accept in-kind donations from community members to stock their stores. The stores are located within a block from each other on Main Street's east side. They have large windows, are very clean, well-organized and staffed with very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable volunteers. Elite Repeat supports mainly Habitat for Humanity, the Central Oklahoma Community Action Agency, and the Stillwater Domestic Violence Services. Karman Korner Resale raises money for the Judith Karman Hospice.

Both stores select only high-quality donations for resale. The remainder is distributed to other businesses. Both Elite Repeat and Karman Korner Resale on Main Street have large sections for women's and men's clothing. Women's formal dresses are just beautiful and flawless. Typically, they come in sizes 8, 10, 12, and 14 and range in color from the traditional black to blue, red, and white. Often this section also contains beautiful wedding dresses. All clothing is almost new and fashionable. It is sold for a few dollars only, much less than one would pay even in a discount store.

Elite Repeat and Karman Korner Resalealso have numerous pieces of household ware. They offer glassware, plates, ceramics, and tasteful knick-knacks and complement the other Main Street stores in this respect. All the items that are for sale are clearly marked. Sets of dishes are held together with ribbons. Everything is aligned on very clean and well-stocked shelves.

Elite Repeat and Karman Korner Resale are already merchandised for the upcoming Holiday season. Each year, downtown Stillwater has Halloween and Christmas events. The stores along Main Street participate by giving out candy and keeping their doors open for late evening shopping. Elite Repeat and Karman Korner Resale are perfect opportunities to stock up on high-quality seasonal items at a great value.

The two resale stores on Main Street also offer jewelry, furniture, baskets, children's clothing, toys, shoes, purses, and many other unique items. I frequently scour the store with my preschooler in tow. She has picked items such as a wooden box with a flower, a Christmas ball with feathers, new Beanie Babies, and a ceramics box in the shape of a heart.

The sales associates of Elite Repeat and Karman Korner Resale are very friendly. They keep items for customers who prefer not to carry them around at the counter. They are volunteers and provide and excellent shopping experience without breaking the bank.
