Dr. Bronner's All Natual Soap, Changing the World One Bottle at a Time

Go Organic...With Your Soap!

Kris Gaines
If you were to go to www.drbronner.com you might be a little surprised, even if you have heard of this soap before. A lot of people have, and it's been widely labeled as a "hippie" product, probably because it's certified organic, and made with absolutely no animal fats. It's true that Dr. Bronner's is probably used more by communities like this, as these people tend to be more interested in their health and their planet's health; but the fact that it's organic and certified free trade wouldn't be enough to hold such a following. There's something more to this soap, lots more in fact.

Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap comes from a company that has been family owned and operated for over 150 years. Now you may be thinking "big deal, it's only soap anyway", and maybe you're right. Soap making is a delicate process however, it is very precise and it even involves volatile chemicals. By definition, it is in fact a science, or a craft if you will. By using Dr. Bronner's soaps you're using some of the best crafted soaps you can buy, its the generations of recipe refining and adjustments that makes their quality, time tested mixture one of the best you can buy.

Besides being family owned and operated, Dr. Bronner's is an incredibly admirable company for many reasons. Their products are completely cruelty-free and Eco-friendly. That means they're vegan, they don't test on animals. It also means that the bottles and labels their soap come packaged in are made of 100% post consumer recycled plastic and paper. By purchasing these soaps, you are preventing more plastic and paper being made, therefore saving some trees and some much needed oil. Dr. Bronner's soaps are also biodegradable, and Non-toxic which means you can use any of them on baby, your pets and even while camping guilt free. These amazing soaps are also free of foaming agents and other harsh cleansers found in most other soaps and shampoos.

If you have ever heard that your shampoo didn't cut it from your hairdresser because it had sulfates, or was too alkaline, those are the nasty types of ingredients you want to avoid, the kinds Dr. Bronner's doesn't have. Finally, these soaps all come only one way: Preservative-free and certified organic. Its important to remember that your skin is porous and can absorb chemicals fairly easily, the very reason its not a good idea to use any skin products containing titanium oxide or other heavy metals. The best way to avoid harsh chemicals and crazy ingredients you can't pronounce is to go all natural. After all, Breyer's ice cream taught us all that in the 90's with their cute kids who stumbled over most of the ingredients on the other guys box.

"So it's all natural and it's Eco-friendly, big deal". Well, what if I told you that these soaps have over 18 different uses and people are discovering new ones all the time? According to the Dr. Bronner's website these super versatile soaps can be used as a body wash, a hand soap, a shampoo, a pest spray, food wash, laundry detergent, a baby shampoo, mouth-wash, and even a toothpaste! Of course different dilutions are to be used to achieve different effects, and these are just a few of the more common uses. People are always coming up with new and inventive ways to use Dr. Bronner's because it can literally be used for anything. A truly organic and non-toxic product can be used so many places other harsh chemicals can't, for instance; I've heard of people using it to kill wasps and ants as well as keep away mosquitoes.

These folks make a diluted spray that they can spray near children or pets with no worry at all. It's great for cleaning carpets or stubborn stains, and makes an excellent safe pet wash that smells far better than any store brand I've found. The list doesn't stop here, there are all kinds of other interesting and effective uses that I simply don't have the time to list , so go out and grab yourself a bottle at your local health store or on-line and start testing the amazing cleaning powers of Dr. Bronner's magic soap for yourself.
