The Heal Breast Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organization that seeks to raise awareness and funds for research of breast cancer and to clarify the myths commonly associated with breast cancer. This year they will be holding an Awards and Gala Event Thursday, February 22, 2007 at the Sofitel Hotel in Beverly Hills. Tickets are on sale now, proceeds from ticket sales and from the silent auction that evening will go towards networking and supporting holistic breast cancer research.

This year one of the honorees and recipient for the Excellence in Integrative Medicine Award is Dr. Christine Northrup. Author of 3 books, Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom, The Wisdom of Menopause: Creating Physical and Emotional Health and Healing During the Change, and Mother-Daughter Wisdom: Understanding the Crucial Link Between Mothers, Daughters, and Health, as well as countless TV specials on women's health Northrup has earned media prestige with appearances on Oprah Winfrey Show, the Today show, NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw, The View, and Good Morning America.

Dr. Northrup had a 20 year career as a practicing physician in obstetrics and gynecology, before deciding to dedicate her lifework to helping women. She believes in the power of holistic medicine, medicine in which the mind and the body work together. "Once you engage your own inner wisdom, you can change or improve your habits of thought, your emotions, and your behaviors . . . and create a more positive and joyful life experience right away," Dr. Northrup says. "This process, when engaged in regularly, heals both your present and your future."

This year's Awards and Gala Event has a star studded benefit committee. Geena Davis, Ben Stiller, Rosie O'Donnell, Tommy Lee Jones, Paula Abdul and more are listed as part of this event that is being hailed as "Integrative Medicine meets Hollywood".
