Jack Kevorkian is known as "Dr. Death" for being so willing to help people with assisted suicides has died today at the age of 83 due to pneumonia and kidney disease. At 83, Kevorkian said he had helped approximately 130 people end their lives from 1990 to 1999, passed away at about 2:20 in the morning at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. with his close friend and attorney Mayor Morganroth said. Although an official cause of death has yet to be released, Morganroth said that most likely it is Pulmonary thrombosis.
In 2007, he was released from a Michigan prison after serving eight years of a 10 to 15 year sentence for second degree murder. In the 1999 case, Kevorkian had administered a deadly combination of drugs to Thomas Youk, who was suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease, the horrible degenerative disease that can lead to paralysis. It was captured on video and broadcast on 60 minutes.
