Since my car accident in November of 2009, I have had to begin the long road to rebuilding my strength and taking care of my overall health and wellness. Therefore I began going to the gym several times a week in
order to build strength back in my legs and arms and also visiting a Chiropractor at least twice a week.

Recently while working out at my gym at Legacy Park, I noticed that there was a sign that read "Health
Fair" today; since I am actively working on my health and overall wellness it peeked my interest. Once I completed my hour walk I decided to check out the Health Fair and from a distance I saw a petite
professional women that has a smile that can light up a room. Later I learned her name was Dr. Dennitra Weeden and she is Board certified Chiropractor and has a practice in Suwanee, Georgia.

Today I caught up with Dr. Weeden in order to find out a little bit more about her business, her vision and her passion.

YAHOO: Good afternoon Dr. Weeden. How are you today?

DW: I'm great! Thank you.

YAHOO: It was so great meeting you the other day that I thought the world should meet the woman behind the smile. So, let's start at the beginning. Where did you grow up?

DW: I grew up in Indianapolis, IN

YAHOO: What inspired you to become a doctor?

DW: I had seen a family member suffer for so long with pain, and they had developed a life of dependency on prescription medications. I wanted to make a difference in individual's lives through natural health care.

YAHOO: There are many people that have visited a Chiropractor in their life, but I wanted you to go into detail about what is Chiropractic?

DW: Most people think of pain when they think of going to visit a chiropractor. However, chiropractic can help with so many other conditions such as: asthma, blood pressure, ADHD, digestive issues, etc. Of course, pain is one of the main symptoms that chiropractic can help with. Chiropractic is a natural health care where the hands are used to deliver an adjustment to the spine which removes interference in the nervous system that is causing the body to function improperly.

When the spine is out of the proper alignment, it puts pressure on the nerves which will not allow the correlating areas of the body to respond correctly. The nervous system controls every function of the body, and chiropractors help to restore function.

YAHOO: Many Chiropractors believe most pain is caused because the body is out of alignment. What does your experience tell you Dr. Weeden?

DW: I would agree. That has been the case with most of my patients. However, there are those few patients that have pain as a result of a direct trauma to a specific area.

YAHOO: Tells our readers a little bit about your practice, Absolute Spine and Health. What services do you offer?

DW: Our office focuses on correction rather than temporary relief. To achieve this, we must tailor to each individual's care specific to what is found in their exam and/or x-rays. No patient's care is synonymous. We focus on the entire spine using several techniques, therapies, traction devices, strengthening, stretching, etc. to achieve the goal. We also service individuals that have been injured in automobile accidents or on the job. We do accept most insurances and offer payment plans to those uninsured and families.

YAHOO: Where can people find you on-line Dr. Weeden?

DW: You can visit my website: absolutespineandhealth.com.

YAHOO: What advice can you give to those that are interested into going
in to Chiropractic Care as a profession?

DW: It is required that you get a Bachelor's Degree first. So, as an undergraduate student, major in a science field to avoid having to take additional pre-requisite courses before beginning the Doctoral program. While a chiropractic student, be sure to do an internship to become familiar with the business aspect of chiropractic. Familiarize yourself with insurances, coding, and marketing. It is awesome to be a great doctor, but you must know the business side of the profession as well.

YAHOO: Dr. Weeden, it was a pleasure meeting you and I look forward to networking with you in the future and I wish you much success!

DW: Thank you so much Karen. I will definitely look forward to it is well!
