On January 20th 2009 America will swear in the world's first African to become the President of the United States of America. Why do I say world? Because of course African's in America see this as a true change in America especially where race is concerned. But the world see's this as a historic moment that will change the world forever. Particularly in regards to how America will be viewed by the rest of the world. To name the few things that President Elect Obama and Vice President Elect Biden have already set in motion.
They established a dialog on race and racism in America, that conversation is still going on. They went abroad on a friendship tour to reach out to the world. And even before the future President and Vice President have even entered their administration, many people in the departing Bush Jr. administration, in America and other world governments including the conflict in Gaza are seeking solutions from the incoming Barack Hussein Obama administration. And I know it is not the easiest thing to hear but to just repeat again what President Elect Obama said and I paraphrase. America is in for a tough ride. We have huge economic problems, we have strife unresolved in Iraq and Afghanistan, we have Gitmo to name a few of our problems. We have the leftovers from the outgoing President Bush Jr. administration. And it will be a long, hard struggle and fight to get America back on track.
It may not even happen with President Obama's administration or in his second term. Which I hope and pray he has a second term of office also. One thing for sure I believe all that he had to go through will make him (our 44th President of the United States of America) prepared as tomorrow he takes his rightful place on the seat of power in world's most powerful nation on earth under God.
