Dr. Oz Encourages Colleen Williams to Lose Weight

Mary Thatcher
Colleen Williams is not your average 31 year-old American woman. She has a pretty face, but physically her weight has presented her with numerous challenges throughout her life. Colleen weighs 700 pounds and recently sought help from Dr. Oz to lose weight.

Colleen has become part of the "Move It and Lose It" program that will help her lose weight that is causing her numerous health problems. It is difficult to imagine what it is like to be so heavy, even in a society that continues to have a population with a growing obesity problem. Due to steady diets of fast food that is not considered healthy by any means, along with sedentary lifestyles, Americans are getting heavier, even if they do not quite match up to the weight of Colleen or any other individual who is over the 500 pound mark.

While Colleen had a natural aversion to doctors since she knew what they would tell her - to lose weight - she finally relented and allowed Dr. Oz to help her get to New York to undergo blood tests that would tell her the present state of her health. While the results did not look good for Colleen at all, Oz told her she did have a chance to change her once addictive lifestyle of eating and get back on track to a much healthier body. Colleen admitted that she used to seek comfort in eating, even though it usually resulted in an empty comfort. People who have experienced any kind of emotional or mental trauma sometimes turn to food to comfort them but wind up doing themselves more harm than good.

Colleen is the kind of woman who has a special goal in mind, and has the willpower to reach that goal. She no longer wants to be bedridden but rather feel light on her feet, move freely and look fabulous in the latest fashions. She can do it, and while she may need some help from Dr. Oz, along with the right doctors and support from family, I believe she can do it and be a role model to any lovely woman who has a substantial amount of weight to lose.
