Dr. Phil Interviews Ted Williams Girlfriend ~ Part 5

Dr. Phil Will Be Coaching Them to Stay on the Straight and Narrow

Diane Zoller-Ciatto
Today Dr. Phil McGraw interviewed the girlfriend of Ted Williams along with his ex-wife Patricia and daughter Julia. Ted is now in rehab and Dr. Phil spoke to him on the phone and confronted him with difficult questions. He admitted that he did drink and do drugs in Columbus before he went to rehab.

Kathy is an admitted crack addict and agreed to come out and talk, but she does not want to go to rehab. Dr. Phil talked to her and his ex-wife and daughter. She is said she supports Ted's recovery. On the phone, Ted explained that he is worried about her and truly loves her. They have been together for seventeen years; but for her to stay with Ted she must get clean and sober just like Ted is doing. Dr. Phil offered her rehab and she said that she is not ready right now because she has a case pending, blah, blah, blah! Phil then told her that it is on the table now, not tomorrow or three years from now. Take it or leave it.

Kathy showed up with her lawyer because of the impending case, which was not disclosed. Dr. Phil does his homework, knows about the case and the treatment facility will allow her to go to court for whatever is necessary. She has been incarcerated before and feels that rehab will be like prison to her.

Ted cried on the phone when Kathy agreed to go to the woman's facility that Dr. Phil offered to her. Dr. Phil told them both that he has no idea how long the treatment will take; it is up to the professionals where they are being treated. So Kathy left with the program director of the facility. Her sister, Colleen was in the audience and has tried to help her numerous times, but the facilities are full and do not have a bed for her. She attended meetings with her as often as possible and Ted had nothing but good words to say about Colleen. Ted knows that his family blames Kathy and her family blames him, but it is just a bad situation for both of them and all involved.

Dr. Phil rehashed all the lies that Ted told him since they met. Ted was listening and promised that he is going to stop the lying and his daughter Julie told him that she loves him and he loves her back. Patti wants him to find a church base and promised him that she will be there for him.
Dr. Phil stated that it is an uphill battle and he will have to fight every inch of the way. The facility he is in will see that he is nurtured physically, mentally and spiritually. His family is supporting him, his children and ex-wife are in his corner and Kathy is seeking Dr. Phil's help. We truly wish him and Kathy the best. They both will be in my prayers along with their families for what they all have been through all these years. As for the naysayers, you are entitled to your opinion. I will be keeping an eye on this story and reporting any updates but hope is something we all do need in our lives and everybody roots for an underdog. So for now, all is going well for Ted and Kathy.

Enjoyed your article and the comments. I'm Kathy's sister that was on Dr. Phil with her. I talked to her about 1 hour ago which is midnight Saturday here in Ohio. She likes where she's at and have bonded with several of the other girls there. They had me on speaker phone and I tried to encourage everyone. They have meetings each day and there is a church service on Sundays. She got a wonderful encouraging letter from Ted. They are both on the road to recovery & healing. The Lord is now answering all our prayers. Let's all keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

If Ted and family turn the corner, it could be a nice fillip for others similarly placed and, maybe, equally talented in their own ways. But it all requires a strong will! I am with you Diane and pray that it ends well; not a waste of time and money - siva

One wonders when this guy's "15 minutes of fame" will be over... soon, I hope. Then he can get on with putting his life back together without the public scrutiny. Nice recap!
