Dr. Phil Interviews Ted Williams Homeless Ex-Disc Jockey ~ Part 1

Dr. Phil Will Be Coaching This Man to Stay on the Straight and Narrow

Diane Zoller-Ciatto
The velvet voice of overnight sensation Ted Williams did the announcing for this entire episode and he sure has a wonderful gift in that golden voice. The reporter who discovered him is very happy for him and hopes he has financial security with his God-
given ability and hopes that he is able to manage this second chance and have the kind of life that he wants to have.

Dr. Phil wants to help him and asked him tough questions about his life and what led him down the path he was on only a few days ago. If you are familiar with Dr. Phil; he pulls no punches. He wants to give him a bit of help with his second chance.

Dr. Phil and Ted met on the streets where he lived and showed the cardboard box where he once lived. Phil asked him to fess up about his indiscretions and be truthful about the events that led him down this broken path. Ted does not want people to judge all the homeless because there are nice people out there who just need help. When the homeless are asking for a handout, many people do not want to donate to their drug and alcohol habits. He admitted that that was exactly what happened in his case. He has been clean and sober for nearly two and a half years. Ted Williams admitted that very few people asked him what he was going to do with the money and he was yelled at by people telling him to get a job and calling him a damn bum.
His fame has been instantaneous. He has admitted that he prayed that he could get back in radio and he made the sign hoping that someone would just hear his voice and give him a chance. So Dr. Phil wants him to roll up his sleeves and listen to the plan he has for him. He knows that he got a second chance and there will be no third chance.

Williams has really made a mess of his life. Although he was not a violent criminal, his has an extensive rap sheet. His biggest obstacle right now is being homeless. He wants a place to call his own with a kitchen where he can cook a meal and a bed to sleep in. He is the voice of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese and has offers from MSNBC and even the Cleveland Cavaliers want to give him a two year contract.

If you have been watching the news, you saw him reunited with his mother who is 86 years old. He is her only child and he said he prayed that she would stay alive so he could see her again and apologize for disappointing her. Dr. Phil says everyone loves an underdog and after his fifteen minutes of fame go away, the media will tear him down as quickly as they built him up. He has to be an open book, admit his transgressions and leave no stone unturned, because the media can be cruel. He is a deadbeat dad, who wants to be back in the lives of his nine children. Dr. Phil brought up an incident that he has had to clarify because he knew that the claims were overblown. Dr. Phil also states that you cannot change what you will not acknowledge.

On tomorrow's show there will be an intervention with Ted Williams and his ex-wife and his children and I will be reporting on this too.

I had to read this to find out who Ted Williams is. It's amazing how someone can go from being a spokesperson for Kraft to homeless.

Honestly, I feel cheated somehow by this man, (Ted Williams) I wish him well and do hope he can beat this battle with his addictions but everyone has a story. Mine - I was stuck in a relationship with a verbal and physically abusive alcoholic partner for over 20 years - so I am no stranger to alcohol abuse. My dream has always been to be a voice actor, I have worked so hard over the years to perfect my skills and move my life in the direction of my dream doing it all secretly and while being put down, called names that no one deserves to be called and accused of being a cheater and a liar. I had even went as far as to purchase recording equipment, computer, microphone, software and so on to only come home one day to find it had all been smashed to pieces by a hammer. So, you are all thinking why stay in this situation. I had a daughter with this person that I felt obligated to be there for, to make sure she was taken care of. To make sure she had what she wanted and needed. I wanted to

I too would not want my life to be made a spectacle I fear that Dr. Phi(good) is doing this more for ratings. Great work on this article. I am pulling for the homeless man who has hit good fortune though.
