Dr. Phil's Big Announcement!

Dr. Phil said that he had a big announcement to make on his television show today. He said that Oprah said that 2010 would be her last year on the Oprah Show. If you witnessed it, Oprah was teary and grateful to her audience and viewers through the years. She will celebrate over 25 years on television by the end of this final season. I have watched her for all of those years. I haven't always agreed with everything that she has said or all of her beliefs. I don't believe in throwing out the baby with the bath though and have gained so much from her television show.

Was Dr. Phil going to announce that he too would be going off the air? He had his whole staff on stage including his wife. He said that he has been on the air on his own show for 8 years and that didn't include the time on Oprah's television show. His staff has to number over 100 people. He introduced some of them personally. Many of them have been with him since his Oprah days. He hasn't had a large turnover in staff.

There are things that I have not agreed with with Dr. Phil too. Again I don't want to throw out the baby with the bathwater. He can be arrogant and a bit too sarcastic at times. I don't like the way that he talks down to people sometimes. All in all though he is straight talking and has a lot of homegrown advice.

I haven't been a big fan of the Dr. Phil house and was really getting sick of the whiner daughters that were in the last session. I have liked a lot of the guests and the variety of shows that he has had on. I like most of his opinions on how to raise children. I have not got involved with his or Oprah's blogs because I really don't want to get that involved. It is hard enough to find time enough to write here. I think it is a good idea for those who have the time and want to be more involved.

What was Dr. Phil's big announcement? He will be on the air at least through the year 2014! I am glad that he will still be on. I hate to see Oprah go off the air and it would be too big of a shock to my system to have them both be off at the same time. I still remember when Phil Donahue went off of the air. I am a fan of talk shows. I don't have a lot of time to watch television but I really enjoy watching them. I am glad that you are going to be with us for at least another 4 years Dr. Phil.
