One that you won't want to miss is the Dr. Seuss Birthday Celebration at Franklin Elementary, located at 2400 Truxtun Avenue Bakersfield CA 93301 . Their event is on March 2nd from 5 PM to 7 PM .
The event itself is free to attend. Refreshments are available for a small fee.
Some of the fun plans for the night are:
*Book Making Demonstration from 5-6 PM with special guest Sandra Yoon
*Storytellers (including the school principal, the Cat in the Hat, Thing 2, Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz and more!)
*Face Painting (Have whiskers like the Cat in the Hat!)
*One Fish Two Fish Fishing Game
*Cat in the Hat Toss Game
*Make a Hat like the Cat in the Hat's!
*Math Table
* Seuss Activity Tables
*and much more!
Enjoy a yummy hot dog and soda for only $1.50! There will also be delicious cupcakes available for $1 that will look like a beloved Seuss character! Come on by to find out which one.
The Spirit Student Store will also be open so you can see why your children are so excited when Friday's roll around at Franklin ! Prices at the student store range from .5 cents to $13 dollars.
Also featuring Diary of a Wimpy Kid grams to celebrate reading. Grams are $1 each, come in four fun styles and are paired with a Diary of a Wimpy Kid bookmark. You can send a gram to a student at the school IF you already know a student or take one home for yourself.
Buy a ticket for your chance to win great prizes in our Opportunity Drawing. Tickets are $1. Winners will be drawn at 6:30 PM . To win, you don't have to be present but we'd sure like you to be so we can share the excitement of winning with you. You can win FOUR park hopper tickets to ***DISNEYLAND***, Autographed book baskets, $100 clothing certificate to Tea Collection.com, and an art themed basket that includes a family membership to the Bakersfield Art Museum.
