After drinking a Sonoma Natural Blood Orange Sparkler, see story a few weeks back. I was expecting more of the same with a hint of honey.
Instead I got a very fruity taste with a hint of honey.
The honey taste comes from the real honey used to sweetened the drink. The company promotes the honey all over the label and even uses an image of a bee and claims the drink to be "Beelicious."
The bottle cap proudly states "A Bee in Every Bottle."
A closer look at the bottle reveals that the drink is referred to a honey soda which is more accurate than the All Natural Blood Orange front of the label.
According to the label, the drink has been around since 1973 and is crafted from an "old European recipe."
Ingredients listed are purified sparkling water, honey, blood orange extract, oil of lemon, citric acid and fruit juices.
The fruit juices definitely make up the taste of the soda which incidentally is not bad.
Those worried about their caffeine taste will be delighted to know that the drink is caffeine free.
A check of Google reveals that the company also makes honey root beer and that company prefers to use honey or real pure cane sugar as sweeteners.
As a matter of fact, most if not all of the old fashioned sodas I have sampled recently use pure cane sugar instead of the refined kind found in most of the popular sodas of today.
More research on the Internet reveals that Dr. Tima sodas can be found in health food stores.
All and all I thought the drink was good. The only downfall was I was in the mood for an orange taste and didn't get it.
So I say if your in the mood for a fruity tasting drink or something with a honey taste, then Dr. Tima Honey All Natural Blood Orange is the drink for the moment.
If it is orange soda you desire, then you might look at a Sonoma Sparkler.

Post a CommentAnother fun review.
You're a brave soul...some of the sodas I would not have touched, such as this one. Not a honey fan.
I'm with Theresa on this one! Still, another great review of gourmet soda!
You are far more adventurous than I am. As soon as I saw the word, "blood," I'd have backed off.
