Dragon Coloring Pages for All Ages

There are Dragons galore in recent releases of video games and movies to keep us coloring dragons for decades. Some of the dragons appear in the popular video games Dragon Age and Dungeon and Dragons, and popular movies or television shows like Dragon Ball Z, Pete's Dragon, Never Ending Story, Avatar and How to Train Your Dragon. Let's don't forget Puff the Magic Dragon, one of my favorite Peter, Paul and Mary songs.

Dragons have been the subject of cultural folklore for centuries. In Chinese folklore the dragon is the symbol of fertility. In other folklore, the dragon is evil or the friendly protector of maidens. In some folklore, the dragon takes on the appearance of different animals including snake-like creatures. The Komodo Dragon looks more like a lizard and continues to fascinate kids and adults all over the world.

When I was a High School teacher and in later years, a substitute teacher, I always had plenty of Dragon coloring pages on hand for kids of all ages to do when they finished their work or as a reward for a classroom management effort. Even as a Mom, I had Puff the Magic Dragon coloring pages for my children to do when we traveled on planes, trains, and automobiles!

Every girl and boy likes Dragons and coloring pages. The funny thing about Dragons is even the young first and second graders like the detailed dragon coloring sheets that have dragons throwing flames, and the older middle school and high school girls like the cute little Smurf Dragons. So, if you are a teacher, I will leave it up to you which Dragon coloring pages work best in your classroom.
