The myths and legends that surround dragons are all representative of the culture that they are related to. In Europe, there were the knights that killed dragons that threatened the fair maidens of the time. In Asia, the dragons represented wisdom; they could tell people things that they needed to know to have a good life. Huge lizards were the foundation that dragons were created from in the Mid East countries. Many of these types of tales have been passed down the line of families in a traditional manner.
There are many types of dragon tattoos that a person can choose from, but by far the most popular is the one depicting a reptile type of creature with features that are common with a lizard. More expensive tattoos will show far more detail such as well defined scales, or an outstretched tongue, fancy bat like wings, or the fire that a dragon has been known to breath out, and many more. These are some of the most commonly seen dragon tattoos.
Generally, every person who wears a dragon tattoo, has a reason of their own to do so. Larger type of dragon tattoos can be symbolic of strength; they also tend to be the fire breathing type. Dragon tattoos that represent intelligence are generally found to be smiling in the image. They are also quite often made to appear old. Most can show what the meaning is behind it to a certain point.
Ideas and emotions can also be depicted in a dragon tattoo. Whether it is mischief, evil, wisdom, strength, or any other emotion, the image that a person opts for, can get this message out for all to see. It all is up to the person getting the tattoo and what they want it to mean to them. Colors that can be used in dragon tattoos are unlimited. Men are more apt to choose bolder colors such as red, green, or yellow. Women are more into blues, pinks, and purples when it comes to coloring the dragon tattoo that they have. Colors that you choose for the tattoo you are getting are just as important as the design itself as it shows even more of your personality.
