Drama Anyone

Our Means to Control

Angie Eros
Drama in today's society is more than what you see on television. Take a look around and even pay attention to your actions and see the drama unfold before your eyes. Humans create drama in many forms in order to illicit an wanted reaction from whomever they feel it necessary. We manipulate our environment so we can get what we want, feel a certain way, or even get a response from someone. We don't realize that we have done this because we are so accustom to our dramas that we have learned to use them without thinking about it. From the time we are born we use drama to motivate our parents to do what we want and as we grow we learn to use different dramas to continue to control our world. If a particular drama works best as we grow up, that is the one we most often lean toward.

As adults, we neglect to even notice how we manipulate our lives. Drama can come in many forms and often we fail to have the knowledge to see them. Often we dismiss our motives as legit and the right way but we can't even face how selfish we are. Human beings are selfish and full of themselves. They can not see into the dreams and hopes of others without thinking of how it could benefit them. Whether we manipulate through intimidation or victimization, we find a way to control. No one is except from that; not even the pope is exempt from this manipulation in some form.

The real question is will we ever see through our dramas and find ways to truly benefit mankind in a way that does not benefit us totally. Will we sacrifice our good feeling for others and the reality that we all have to work together? Humanity may not be ready to see how they manipulate others. Can we face the facts ? Our own inability to let go of our wants and focus on the needs of other has placed our planet in a very unstable position.

Our concern should be with the environment and the many suffering people in the world. If we properly placed the energy we use to control, problems like world hunger and improper nutrition would not be an issue. Around the world there are dieses that can be cured with things as simple as vitamin E, but we refuse to do anything about it and in turn the people suffering with those dieses die. In the news we hear only a portion of what is going on in the world and it is usually the portion and plays on the dramas we have set up for ourselves. If a new station reported on the woes of the real world we would simply turn it off; mortified by the ones suffering inability to change their situation.

What can they do to change their circumstances, when they are living the only way they can afford to? While we are out there spending billions on a oil war, we could be saving lives. Pride come before a fall and people with dramas have plenty of pride. Whether we play the victim, the intimidator, the interrogator, or just plan aloof; we find a way to get what we want from people. The people who are suffering keep going no matter what life has handed them. They go to bed in tears, watch their children die or grow up into the same life, and as each year goes by they give up on hope. Meanwhile, we fight to gain control of the last tator tot.
