Up and Coming Rapper Known as Draz

Like most artists in the entertainment business "Draztic Tacticz," born Montrel Woodhouse, 23, lights up the room with charisma, and an always on personality, but unlike entertainers, especially rappers Draz appears to be fueled by life opposed to sex, drugs, and crime.

"I'm pretty drug free, Draz laughs about himself, guess that makes me lame or not the average rapper, I get bent off my passion and love for music."

Influenced by rappers such as: Big L., Rass Kass, Jay-Z, Nas, Talib Kweli and by other artists like, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Anita Baker, Run DMC, and Janet Jackson, Draz exhibits a different attitude from most rappers who may come off cocky and arrogant even as they are just starting out on their path to the Music Industry. His un-categorical rhyming expression is what makes Draz the artist that he is; oppose to trying to be like everyone else, he strives to be himself and does music that represents him.

"Rappers want to do what's hot, Draz said, I don't want to sacrifice my pride and face regretting something to capitalize off it."

Draz is definitely able to have creative leverage as an unsigned artist affiliated with Psylent Entertainment an independent label. Being unsigned does not keep Draz from getting his product out and into the ears of his many supporters, listeners, and fans.

"I have been featured on 'Psylent Entertainment Compilations: Blood, Sweat, Tears... Breakin the Psylence', 'WPSY-Underground Radio', 'Syc Omega Mixtape', 'Nile's On the Grind', 'Sampson Summer's mixtape', Junior Brown's upcoming album 'Heaven and a Gun' to name a few." Draz said.

Draz's path of lyrical rampage started at the age of 14 after battling a peer who just happened to be a female.

"Girls can rap too and she embarrassed me very badly in middle school." Draz said remembering the rap battle that would change his life. The female rapper known as "Gawdezz" helped Draz to become skillful lyricist he is today, even giving him the stage name he carries, "Draztic Tacticz."

Now as a college student at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia, Draz finds that pursuing a degree in communications and pursing a career in the music business is like being Bruce Wayne and Batman, but he uses the college setting to his advantage, always putting his name out there and using connections with party promoters to promote his music. Though it's his connections to close friends, supporters and producers that help him stay positive as he purses his musical dreams.

"I try to encourage myself, Draz said, [you] can't get anywhere easy or everyone would be rappers. Plus I got like the best friends and producers, they always make sure my head never hangs low and show me they believe in me, and that means the world."

As far as the future goes for this current independent artist Draz said: "I am looking towards whatever will take my career further. If a major deal has a good offer and I can still have my own direction then I am all for it...if I can get distribution, whatever or whoever, they just need to know I am a promising investment."

In the meantime, Draz already has his album "Breath of Fresh Air, vol 1, available and is working on "Breath of Fresh Air vol. 2: The Hunger. To hear songs by Draz or to contact him check out his official music artist MySpace page www.myspace.com/drazpsy.
