The World of Dreams

In that otherworld I met this girl. I remember that she had laming red hair, and nice tanned skin. Her outfit was stylish but practicalall in teh hues of red, blue, and black. I think the colors were her House Colors. She had a hard edge to her, one that added a dangerous allure to her.

Together we travelled in the otherworld version of Tutuila. Everything seemed to be packed together, and yet, when you walk upon the roads, everything seems to stretch forever. The world was hazy, as if a perpetual cloud was blocking the sun. Time had no meaning.

We were walking the roads that led to nowhere. West became East as we passed by Samoana High School in the village of Utulei, and then--the strangest part of all--a Pregnancy Clinic in the village of Fagatogo. A quick stop at the Clinic revealed an air conditioned room filled with a row of bedridden pregnant ladies. A host of doctors and nurses were in attendance. We bypassed the room, then out the back door we went. The road was still there, and our feet took us forward.

In some strange and undefinable way, the tropics turned into a desert. Where the rain drenched land was bordered by the Pacific Ocean, now the land stretched for leagues in a flat, barren wasteland.
