DREAM ENTRY ONE

CONTINUED

TASALI PILA
Something happened in that wasteland. We ran into trouble, and the girl with the fiery red hair was kidnapped. They seemed to come out of nowhere, as if they had command of the stuff dreams were made of. They jumped us, and in the ensuing battle, they took her. From the baginning of the battle to the moment they landed a blow to my head and I went down to my knees, she remained calm and collected. As the world became blurry, she looked me in the eye, and whispered that she would find her way back, somehow... Into a red car they put her, a sleek looking thing that had lines and curves that begged for speed.

They left...

I stepped onto the road once more, and began walking towards the direction the car had gone.

How long I travelled, I do not know. What kept me going was a shimmering anger that burned deep inside me. She's safe, I told myself. Images of past adventures went through my mind--images that told me of other battles, in other times and places. She's okay. She could take care of herself.

For what seemed like hours I walked upon that road. It was the only man made thing that broke the tract less desert about me.

Finally, I found them...the red car at least. Skid marks went off the road, and there the car lay, overturned in the sand. My heart skipped a beat as I took in the entirety of the scene before me, its impossibility.

The vehicle was covered in vines, and not the thin scrawny ones that could be found next to the habitats of man. No, these vines were thick as the arm of a full grown man, and they were interwoven about the vehicle. Across the entire undercarriage of the car, to the wheels and exhaust pipe, creepers looped out and intertwined.

A small movement caught my eye. A small and fragile bird was panting for air, with cuts and blood in places across its body. Of the girl and her captors, there was no sign.

I continued onwards.

It wasn't until later that I realized something. The bird was a Sparrow, and her soft feathers were in the colors of red, black, and blue.
