Dream World

Charlotte Kuchinsky

In my deepest dreams, I always see

Life as it was meant to truly be.

Where no one suffers and no one lies;

Where love is common and all hate dies.

Where man embraces every brother

And there is no need to harm another;

Where peace exists without suppression

And hope is more than an expression.

Where all may worship as these please;

And fear doesn't threaten to bend one's knees.

Why must such a world be lost in dreams

While each man plots with his selfish schemes?

Why can't we join together at last

To ban greed and envy to our past?

Why can't we stand at last united

Refuse to break; become divided?

Why can't we learn that we're more than same

Than suggested by some given name?

For if we can't, it may be too late.

We will seal our doom and face our fate.
