Dreaming of You

Lisa R. Strong
I see you face in my mind's eye;
The wind whispers your name;
My heart skips a few beats;
I have a desire for you;
Down in my deepest soul;
Passion has set me on fire;
Imagining us together;
I can feel the gentle roughness;
Of your strong hands caressing;
The strength of your loving arms;
Pulling me close to your chest;
Where I can feel the rhythm;
Of your love for me too;
Yours ears are open to my secrets;
As I bare my soul to you;
All my life I have dreamed of you;
I have waited so long;
But you have yet to come to me;
As my youth slowly slips away;
So does youthful desires;
Cruel reality of time sets in;
And you will be nothing more;
Than another dream unrealized

    Once again a beautifully written poem. True Love is a wonderful thing to find especially when it loves you despite your flaws. :-)

    PS: "Turns chilling" from my first post is meant to be a compliment as in: the tone changes from warm to cool as you express the loss of the warmth of youth and approach the last line of "another dream unrealized". It's meant to say: VERY well executed...in case my meaning was ambiguously unclear. : ) : )

    Beautifully written and thought out. The end line made me catch my breath. Wonderful original ending. Turns chilling as the last line approaches.
