Dreaming About Falling

Dreamland!

Dina Montgomery
You may take your dreams seriously or you may not. It is known to be true that dreams form from what we are thinking and feeling in our reality, our waking lives. You may be stressing about something at work or you may have had an argument with a loved one. Whatever the case may be, our emotions seem to play out in our dreams. So what does it mean when we dream of falling?

Dreaming of falling may give you the feeling that you are out of control. But is it really true that you will die if you don't wake up before you hit the ground? No, so don't feel fearful about your dreams about falling. Dreams about falling are among the worlds most common of dreams. Most likely if you have a dream of falling, you may have suddenly awakened before you hit the ground. Dreaming of falling may symbolize the feelings of fear, insecurity, anxiety, and indiscretion. If you do experience a dream of falling, you may want to slow down a bit in your waking life and take a good look at your obligations and your responsibilities. What is going on in your waking life that is causing you to have anxiety and fear?

Let's take a closer look and see if we can come up with some answers.

If you are dreaming of falling down a flight of stairs at home, you may be feeling insecure about your family life, or feeling anxious about your kids, such as dreaming of toys left on the stairs.

If you are dreaming of falling off a building, you may be feeling that you have lost control of the direction that your life is going. In the dream, if the building is your place of work, you may feel you have lost control of your professional life; it may signify that you want to seek a different career.

If you are dreaming of falling from a dramatic rocky cliff, you may be feeling anxious about who you truly are, where you are going in your life, and what it all means. It may help to start some soul searching.

If you are dreaming of falling while in an elevator, this may signify that you feel boxed into a certain role in your waking life which you can't escape. It might be a good idea to evaluate your role and do some changing, and take the stairs next time.

If you are dreaming of falling into water, you may have fallen for someone or you may fear your passions or sexual impulses may get the better of you. This may be a good time to be cautious, or a time to let yourself fall and enjoy the swim.

Whatever scenario it is about you falling in your dream, by understanding a little more about why you are dreaming of falling, you can take appropriate action to help you in your waking life. Happy Dreaming!

I think this probably is the most common dream. I actually did hit the ground one time in my dream, and it felt like falling into a feather bed. I sure was glad it wasn't like everybody had told me that if you hit the ground, you died. It felt good to wake up.
