Dreaming of Vampires

Dream a Little Dream!

Dina Montgomery
Have you been dreaming of vampires lately? It might be because of the hit movie series "Twilight", or it just may be a random dream that you are experiencing. Either way, our dreams are trying to tell us something. It could be totally harmless and it may be because we are thinking of things subconsciously. So why are you dreaming of vampires, we will try and find out?

Vampires are considered to be the ultimate symbol of evil, power, lust, along with the representation of rebellion against society's rules and decorum.

1. If you are dreaming of vampires and you have been bitten, this may represent that you have been feeling the urgency to break the rules in your waking life, and you feel that your resolve is starting to weaken. Or you may feel that you have already made the leap to breaking the rules and have already passed the point of no return, even though you know it is the wrong thing to do. At least it is considered the wrong thing in the eyes of society.

2. If you are dreaming of vampires and you only see one and don't have any contact, this may be an indication that you are trying to behave yourself. Maybe you are trying to do the right thing but you are driven with temptation of something in your waking life.

3. If you are dreaming that you have already taken the leap, hit that point of no return and are a vampire, you have the feelings of already rejecting certain conventions in the favor of a more self-indulgent and unrestricted lifestyle. It may also signify that you would like to have that type of reputation even if you are not quite as corrupt as you want other people to think you are. You want other people to think that you are more than what you are, to give a different sense of being.

4. If you are dreaming of vampires, this can signify that you have feelings of rebellion against something that is happening in your waking life. You may feel like you want to break away from the rules, break out of the mold. You are tired of feeling like you are just part of the herd, you want to go your own way, do what you want without limitations holding you back.

Whatever you may feel that your dreams of vampires are trying to tell you, maybe by reading this it can give you some answers. Happy Dreaming!

I don't think I've ever had a dream of vampires either.

I had to read this article, because though I've never dreamed of vampires, I did recently dream of creatures with bodiless heads and headless bodies, all of them covered with a green crusty substance. And no, I wasn't on drugs, and yes, I have weird dreams often, but this one was the weirdest by far. I really enjoy your dream analysis articles.

Yikes! What does dreaming of a house on fire mean? I'd love to know. Have you written this one? Last night I had a dream that a house I was living in burned to the ground. I've had those fire dreams before. Usually they burn really slow, and it's usually in one part of the house while I'm trying as hard as I can to get things out. Please send me a PM if you know. :)

How about your insecurities getting the better of you and seeing death as a viable alternative to life. Not all victims of vampires transform into vampires. Accepting the embrace of the undead -- dying -- would be the ultimate rebellion against your current life. Not healthy. Maybe if the vampire in one's dream was all sparkly and all "warm and fuzzy" like those nimrods in the "Twilight" movies...
