Dreams

A Year of Poems: Day Two Hundred and Forty-Five

Diane Zoller-Ciatto
When I grow up
I wanna be
A nurse, a doctor
Or be on TV!

Such are the dreams
Of our youth
But do you know?
I will tell you the truth!

When we grow older
We sometimes forget
That dreams are important
So we live with regret!

So dream on, my friends
And don't misconstrue
If you forget to dream
How can they ever come true???
